Jades new forthcoming 'The Venom Remix EP' on Eatbrain is heaven for a neurofunk addict. This of course, is not surprising since it is coming from one of the producers who helped define the neurofunk sound after all. The originals already kick some serious a$$, so you can be assured that the remixes deliver the ultimate bass experience. With neck snapping drums, contagious bass-lines and sharp-swinging synths each track brings a variety tasty flavours. The release date posted above only applies to side C. and D. and side A and B is already exclusively available to order on beatport. CARMAGEDDON by GRIDLOK [FREE D/L]

Yesterday, GRIDLOK posted a new mix titled 'CARMAGEDDON' on his soundcloud and as a bonus it's up for download - pretty sure it has a maximum of 1000 though, so get it while it's still available. Track list is also included. This mix takes you on a journey through the deeper, darker and heavier side of DnB - only for the true heads!  I can only imagine how this mix would destroy any dark-lit venue completed with a heavy-duty sound system that would blow the bass into your face and out the soles of your steppin' shoes.

Interview with Jade [Hungary]

Alright, so I know this is way overdue, but Jade has been touring for the past 2 months, so he just got back to me recently with the interview! This is the first one I have done through an e-mail rather than in person, but it's an extremely good read if you're into his music, or even into production really. I must say though, I find it quite odd that Hungary is banned from itunes, a big w-t-f right? Anyways, all photos used within this write-up were shot and provided on the night of Jades performance in Toronto by none other than Mista Mensa! A big thanks goes out to him for letting me use his amazing images for this interview. Interview with OPTIV (C4C)

A brief interview I had with Optiv from C4C who's been in the game since '97. His performance at Nocturne for Grindhouse Sessions this night was the kick-off to his North American tour, so I made sure to get the 4-1-1 on what Optiv is all about. Audio Excerpt: OPTIV @ NOCTURNE

Basically, if you missed Optiv's 2-hour extended set at Nocturne Nightclub on the 2nd of June then you fucked up - plain and simple. Here's a 10 min excerpt I recorded from his live set after I had the pleasure of interviewing him. The interview will be posted by June 6th, 2011, so keep a look out. In the meantime, enjoy some of the dark bass-lines Optiv used to shatter, explode and destroy all eardrums present.
